You probably still have some questions before you commit to this. So, let me try and answer them for you...
Do you need any previous design experience?
If you have tried designing in the past, that's great. But this course will teach you from the basics. So, you don't need any experience to take this now.
Do you need any beading experience?
I will be asking you to make the bracelet that you design. So, you should know how to do flat Peyote stitch OR how to work in square stitch or on a bead loom.
If you don't have any of those skills yet, then I do have some other classes that can help you with the basic beading techniques, so take a look through my other classes and see which you need.
Alternatively, if you're keen to get started, you can join this course now. You won't need any beading skills for the first section. So, you can begin learning about design and work on your beading skills alongside that ready for when you come to make your bracelet.
Do you need any design software or special equipment for this?
If you already have some design software that you are used to using, then you can absolutely use that to complete the practical exercises on this course.
But I have provided you with graph paper and full instructions. So, you will just need some colouring pens or pencils to create your design.
When it comes to making your bracelet, you will simply need your beads, a clasp, thread, beading needle, scissors and any other equipment you would normally use for a bead-weaving project.
Will you need to buy any beads or other materials for this course?
No, not necessarily.
You can easily complete this course using just the beads you have in your stash. Part of the process you will be learning is how to choose suitable materials, and that can mean just using what you already have.
However, if you want to buy more beads because you have a very specific idea in mind, you are welcome to do that. You won't need any beads until later on in the course. The first part is all about creating a design on paper. So, you have plenty of time to think about (and order) whatever you might need.
Will you be making the bracelet I showed in the video?
No. But you will be making a bracelet of your own design.
The bracelet I showed was just an example of the style of project you'll be learning how to design here. This course will be teaching you how to take an idea and turn it into a design of your own. You get to decide on what beading stitch you use. You choose your beads and colouring. And you decide on the size of your bracelet and the kind of clasp you use to fasten it. So, you will be learning how to turn that idea in your head into reality.
Is this really worth the price?
In fact, for the knowledge I'm passing on to you, I would say this is actually a bargain price.
It has taken me 18 years and counting to gain the knowledge that I'm going to be sharing with you here. I did all that the hard way by just experimenting on my own and making mistakes.
If you join me, you will be fast-tracked through that so you can avoid the most common mistakes and learn how to produce professional designs right now.
The skills you will learn will allow you to start selling your own designs, with confidence that you are selling a good product. So, if you choose to do that, you can make back the money you're spending on the course, in no time at all. Depending on what you decide to charge for a pattern, you probably need to sell less than 20 patterns to make back your investment here. So, that's pretty do-able.
How do you pay for the course?
Just click on any of the 'enroll' buttons on this page and you will be taken to the check out.
You can choose whether to pay with Paypal or with your credit card. The price is the same for both.
The price is charged in US $ because this school operates on the Teachable platform which is based in the USA. If you are from outside the US, it doesn't matter - your Paypal or credit card will automatically translate the payment into your local currency, so you don't need to do anything special.
Depending on the local tax regulations where you live, you may have to pay VAT or some other kind of sales tax, but that is shown in your price. So, again, you don't need to do anything special.
If you have any coupons entitling you to a discount on this course, remember to add the coupon code on the check out page, before you process your payment. You will see the discount applied automatically.
As soon as your payment goes through, you will have access to begin the course immediately...or whenever you are ready. You should be taken to the 'thank you' page which will tell you how to get started. You should also receive an email confirmation with a link to the course. But please be aware, some email providers block these emails or send them to junk or spam folders.
So, if your email doesn't arrive, it doesn't matter. You can follow the links on the 'thank you' page. Or just come back here, make sure you are logged in, and then click on the 'My Courses' button at the top of the page. You'll find your course all ready to go in there.
How long will it take to complete the course?
That all depends on you.
You will be working at your own speed. You can choose when you work on this. So, if you were to sit down and do this full-time, you could probably complete it in 2-3 weeks...maybe less.
But there's no pressure to complete anything in any given time-frame.
So, you choose how much time you spend on this and when you do it.
How long do you have access to this material?
(That is the life of this beading school...and I have no plans to close it)
So, that means, if I decide to add extra materials in the future, you automatically get access to them at no extra cost.
If the price goes up in the future, you won't be affected. You are already enrolled on the course and can use it as often as you want, whenever you wish.
Will you get any kind of qualification?
You won't get a professional qualification, but if you complete the course you will receive a certificate to prove that you completed it and have gained those design skills.

Your Beading Tutor
Hi! I'm Katie and I'm here to help you become a better beader. Now, no matter whether you've just started out or you've been beading for a while, you probably come across things you don't understand or can't do.
So, that's where I come in. I've been beading since 2003. I was self-taught originally, so I'm pretty sure that whatever 'pain point' you're currently experiencing, it's something I've also faced and overcome. Which means I understand your frustration, but I can also help you to find a way through it.
My own beading experience covers a multitude of different techniques (beadweaving, French beading, bead embroidery and more!). I've published books, patterns in magazines, I even edited a beading magazine for 3 years! And I'm a qualified teacher.
All of that is very nice, but it's not what drives me. I am passionate about beading, in all its forms, and I want others to share that passion. So, my dream is to help more people, like you, to get the most out of their beading. That's why I set up the 'Become a Better Beader' group and why I started publishing beading courses. I've developed the courses specifically to address the things that people tell me they are struggling with. So, if there's something you find difficult, let me know about it.
You can also access hundreds of free informational blogs about beading and join the 'Better Beader' group at www.myworldofbeads.com.
