How does the course work?

You get to work at your own pace, so you can do as much or as little of this as you want. Make sure you bookmark this page, so you can return to it. And make sure that you are logged in when you come back to continue.

You get lifetime access to all of this material. So, you will only need to pay once. If you are being asked to pay again, that's because you're not logged in. So, you should see a little link to log in - or use the 'head' icon on the top right of your page, to log in and access your account.

How are the lessons structured?

In each lesson, you will be asked to complete some (fun) practical tasks. I'll be asking you bead small samples. You can choose what type of beads you use. In many cases, you can also choose the technique you'll be using. For some tasks, you will be asked to work in basic even count Peyote stitch. If you don't know how to do that stitch, don't worry - I've included a video to show you.

Once you have completed the practical tasks, you will also be asked to make your own notes and answer some questions.

There are no right and wrong answers to any of this. So, your work won't be marked. But I do encourage you to show us what you have done and ask for feedback if you wish. To do this, you can use the comments at the bottom of each section. That allows you to add both text and photos. All comments are moderated, and they can be seen by everyone on the course. So, that means you can all take inspiration from each other as well as learning from me.

You'll be learning through a combination of written words, videos, and practical exercises. If you have any trouble viewing any of the videos, then you can use this page to solve the problem: https://support.teachable.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000115971-Common-Technical-Issues-Troubleshooting?

What materials do you need?

You shoudn't need to buy anything for this course. I will be asking you to use seed beads from your stash. You get to decide what size and what type of beads. I would recommend you use whatever you have most colours of.

So, for example, if you have a huge range of delicas, then use those.

If you normally work with the round seed beads, and have a good range of colours, you can use those.

Now, if you are just beginning to discover beads, then you might want to invest in some extra colours for this. Or, you can come back and repeat any of the lessons later on, as your colour choices grow.

You will also want something for stringing beads. I suggest, this would be beading needle, thread, and scissors. But if you normally work with beads on wire, or you just string beads, there is no reason why you can't apply the tasks to those techniques.

You will also need some colouring pencils or felt-tip pens. For some exercises, I am going to suggest you do a bit of 'normal' colouring, rather than beading. But if you don't have these materials, you can use your beads for those tasks (it will just take a little longer as it's quicker to colour a picture than bead it!)

Do you need any previous experience?

No. This course is intended for all levels. So, even if you are just starting to learn, you will be able to complete the course. If you have a lot of experience of beading techniques, that's also great, but you will still learn loads here because we are focusing on choosing colours, not on the actual beading.

Are you ready to get started?

You can also view the introductory videos for each section of the course. These will give you a little flavour of what you'll be doing in each section. But if you're ready to get started now, then please enrol.

Once you have made your payment, you can continue here and view all the lessons. Look out for the receipt in your inbox (also check your junk mail) and that will include a link that brings you back to the course, as an enrolled student so you can start work.

If your receipt doesn't arrive, you can still come back here and log in to continue working on the course.

I hope that sounds good and look forward to seeing you in the lessons. Happy beading!
