In this video, I have explained how to work in Peyote Hexagon technique. This is basically circular Peyote, but with increases placed in specific spots to form a hexagon shape.

The increase cycle takes place over three rows - as you will see. In the first row of a cycle, you make your increases in each of the six corners. In the second and third rows, you add single beads in each stitch, so these are 'straight' rows with no increasing.

You will use this technique to make the lid for your lantern.

You will also use the 'increase cycles' to shape the base and top of the lantern structure. So, although that structure begins differently, you will still be using the technique you are learning here.
